I recently joined #bookwyrm and as somebody who never tried to #goodreads I can be considered somewhat illiterate when it comes to this side of 'bibliophile' #socialmedia but I was not expecting the #ui there to be that much confusing for me 😟 not as user-friendly as this place #friendica or #mastodon !! I guess it's for #pros and I am clearly not one of them or for the serious Bibiliophiles who keep track of all the little details

Hashtags (the octothorpe) is really big on the Fediverse. It can be used on Mastodon to follow a certain topic. It can be used on Friendica the same way but you do a search on that hashtag and then save it. I would expect BookWyrm to have all kinds of hashtags that make no sense to me. I would just use the tags that you are familiar with and not worry about the rest. Those that are of value to you will eventually make sense.

I have never used or seen the BookWyrm UI (User Interface) so I have no idea about that. I know I hate the Mastodon UI and love the Friendica UI. ;-) And that is probably why I administer an Instance in the first place.

@Harib Murshidi I usually use goodreads just to keep me from reading books twice more than anything. It's happened before when I'm about 95% of the way into a mystery, on the last chapter, and I have this inkling that Mr so-and-so is the murderer; and I'm right. I'll check goodreads: ahhhyup, I already read this book like a couple years ago!
