Is it within my Constitutional rights to tell an ICE agent to F*CK OFF?
in reply to EndicottRoad59

@EndicottAuthor Yes, didn't you watch the vid of that young mom and her baby where her Doordash delivery lady ran into the house cuz she was so scared and she called the cops and saved her?...problem is... I can see a lot going South quick...
in reply to EndicottRoad59

@EndicottAuthor ...having said that I would...but I'm crazy...and also I'm safe from this BS...so I have no merit saying this.

There's 330M of us... and what 100k of them?.... please.

in reply to Vee

It's all about how we 330m drive the 100K out of government and send the appropriate number to prison. Violence isn't the answer. Steadfast resistance just might be.
in reply to EndicottRoad59

@EndicottAuthor sorry but you are past being nice. Violence is the solution now that you let the gestapo exists.

Get a baton, learn to make molotov and violently resist this fascist state.

in reply to Joel Falcou, Ph. D

@joel_falcou I'm afraid I must disagree with you, at least for now. Violence begats violence, and people get hurt, even killed. Peaceful protest and resistance is the answer, at least for me.
in reply to EndicottRoad59

whether or not we do, people will get hurt. You think they haven't gotten hurt so far? It's going to get worse.
Renee Good was peaceful and was there to peacefully protest.

This is a good time to underscore what the MN Governor said about giving the violent further pretexts for getting more violent. Yes, they're violent, as the government was during the Vietnam War protests (see Ohio State as prime example) and during the Civil Rights protests beginning with the lunch counter protests. Protesters have died in all those cases. But this is exactly what turned the nation around in the first two cases--when the bad people were made their evil plainly visible against the obviously innocent.
Never look as evil as your attacker.
in reply to EndicottRoad59

peaceful protest didn't prevent previous fascist overtake.

A good fascist is a fascist with a crow bar accros the teeth.

@joel_falcou @EndicottAuthor ...they don't really need molotov cocktails, they all ave guns everywhere. That's exactly why I was wondering where all the 2A people "anti government taking over' people are?
in reply to Joel Falcou, Ph. D

👍surely not ALL of them...

HISTORICAL LITERACY.

in reply to George Dinwiddie

@gdinwiddie specifically these are SA troopers, which was a paramilitary organisation that was important for the Nazis rise to power but in its role within the Nazi power structure later superseded by the SS.

Note that they also raided without warrants from judges. In this picture they rounded up socialists and communists.

I'm sorry, but i've been beyond being "alarmed" for -- well, about a decade?

Nothing Vancipire says can increase my alarmedness anymore.

in reply to Halla Rempt

@halla 👍 what I was thinking as I read this... but have you noticed millions aren't? At. All.
in reply to Vee

Somehow I doubt ICE will be going door to door in the backwoods of North Idaho. ATF tried that shit in the 90s and it ended in tears.
in reply to Vee

@grumble209

Colorado and N Carolina are interesting. They haven't really been blue but don't seem to like how its going.

in reply to Vee

@grumble209

I'm in Wisconsin and we're slowly turning. A lot of people didn't vote and a lot of people are fguring out they were conned.

in reply to Vee

@grumble209

Yup, Kochs have been dumping a huge amount of money for 40 years to own the state for their energy empire. Constantly hitting the voters on crime, indigenous 'priviledge', gun rights, all the tropes. I could heat my house w their nasty lying junk mail. I dropped my home phone because the called for every little local election including school boards and towns. It's been insane.

@grumble209

Part of the reason we've had a hard time getting good candidates in the last 40 years is the drug war. It hit the outstate really bad and a lot of liberals my age have records.

in reply to Vee

Trump, Vance and Miller never learnt this lesson because they were never in Europe when the nazis actually did this to our grandparents!

why should god bother with sending the 10 plagues when god just can send the gop

What every US citizen can do right NOW:
get an ever growing mass of the concerned to
contact their reps, write/phone/email/scream outside their offices, with the #impeachment demand, or, we #primary you with someone who will; find those candidates
and promote them.

Also, critically, organize with your neighbors and community. And by organize I mean organize around anything that you can that puts you in contact with those around you.

Whether it's explicitly around protecting each other from ICE or just solving some local problem you all share.

It may look a little grim in the USA. But at least we weren't living in Germany 100 years ago.

"It began with a small guard unit known as the Saal-Schutz...to provide security for party meetings in Munich. In 1925, Heinrich Himmler joined the unit. From the time of the Nazi Party's rise to power until the regime's collapse in 1945, the SS was the foremost agency of security, mass surveillance, and state terrorism within Germany and German-occupied Europe."

Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes.

Families are torn apart. Men, women and children are separated.

Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared."

This should alarm everyone even if there were no historical precedents, TBH.

WTF is wrong with people, who are not immediately horrified by the very idea!

@SnowyCA
This is so frustrating. It works, again and again ... only half the population seems capable of empathy, for most it can easily be eclipsed by ideology and egoism 🙁
in reply to Quincy ⁂

@quincy
Indeed it is frustrating, even infuriating.
But judging from the lack of pushback, protests, and all the ridiculous excuses I've heard for the lack of participation, I say it is much less than half the population who have a sense of empathy.
IMO, it not only ideology and egoism, but an inherent selfishness and sense of entitlement that ingrained in the American psyche.
in reply to ❄️SnowyIn🇨🇦❄️

@SnowyCA
Agree, selfishness & entitlement are a powerful factor as well. And it can be hard to free oneself from these feelings ... but one would think that a frontal attack on an arbitrary part of the population would change that 😔
in reply to Quincy ⁂

@quincy

Think of the brainwashing from cradle to grave. They are exposed as children with tv shows and movies; even watching truck commercials "patriots buy this" -'land of the free' with military jets and rockets!
Then as school children, praying to the flag each morning--and their anthem--warmongering and aggressive. Textbooks edit out the nastiness and reinforce the American "good"--more aggressive acts .
Sports themes are "patriotic".
They cut up and wear their flag as clothing!
Endless propaganda is why Americans are blinded to the pain and chaos they create both outside AND Within their borders.

That said, there is No Excuse for their lack of resistance because adults do have functioning brains--they made the choice to turn a blind eye !

True, the ideological breeding grounds for atrocities (and indifference thereto), as well as the violence itself, are already there before these become official state policy ...
in reply to ❄️SnowyIn🇨🇦❄️

@SnowyCA @quincy

You guys should check the TT vid I just posted where a cutie patootie explains this very clearly now that the entire world is going "WTF America?!"

in reply to Vee

@quincy
tik tok and my browser hate each other--glitchy. I got as far as "the system was designed that way"

Sorry, it is a load of bullshit excuses because throughout the past however many decades Americans voted for lower taxes rather than improved services like education.
I am sick an tired of US excuses. There are none! Americans need to take responsibility for this worldwide mess, but the majority won't.

in reply to ❄️SnowyIn🇨🇦❄️

@SnowyCA @quincy 👍

yeah... they're not use to that... what is absolutely sure is that violence will be on the menu... not sure who/where the first course is but it is a violent society.

in reply to Vee

yes, I noticed Americans are violent--I lived there.

You needn't worry about JD Vance's threats of door-to-door searches, the admin already has possession of all your digital data, so instead of searches they will simply arrest and disappear people.
