The Blazin' End.
S. King starting out and P. Hingle on the slide on the downside of his career.
This, after I watched an episode of The Twilight Zone titled "A Thing About Machines", where a snobby restaurant reviewer came to his untimely end from stuff around the house.

If those vehicles had rammed the truck stop when they first thought of it, they would have saved gas in the first place and the audience would have been spared all this next-best-thing-to-a-southern-monster-truck-demolition-derby.

Well I didn't have that one on my bingo card either:
fuel tanker truck wants pumped gas.
Morse Code from a truck???
So the Miller truck went up like it was carrying hooch. Not even high point beer can do THAT.

Oh c'mon.
I'm watching this thing on Internet Archive and "similar items based on metadata --Play All" brings up Black Adder and Red Dwarf. Not even damn close.

A comet tail making everything go crazy and it lasts 7 days?
Ya, I did NOT have that on my bingo card.
"What gets me is the stupidity"..."Froze like a rabbit".
There ya go--an actor critiquing the film he's in.
I marked "Speedy drink delivery" on my bingo card just because of that Miller truck.
Thurston and Miller look PISSED that Bubba found rocket launcher & rockets in his Christmas stocking. What kind of Santa Claus goes to S. Carolina?
All that brazen full throated cussin' and the best Bubba can do is a Col. Potter.
"Horse pucky!"
"Zeke's Trash". Yep, that'll play in Peoria.
2nd male gets kissed by a truck like a deer in headlights. I guess that's why the headlights were on in the daytime.
Oh I see. The movie was made this way because a local Walmart closed and had surplus ketchup in both regular sizes and industrial size. Yep--King had to start somewhere.
"Are you dead???"
Well Steven King had to start somewheres.
"Why yes--yes I am dead." ...said nobody ever.
Naw, that can't be right. That was a boy who froze and didn't run from the steam roller.
This is the coolest piece of art I've seen in a while.

"I don't give a ladybug" says Pat Hinkle, the boss.
This after all that uncensored bluestreak cussin' profanity.

#MaximumOverdrive
The biggest problem with this film is the technology. Automotive technology, specifically.
In the 1980s and earlier, the term "overdrive" meant speed override, and today we call that "cruise control". And nobody thought to put sand in the gas during gas-up.

in reply to Tom Grzybow • •That's a commonly made mistake as the term "override" gets forgotten in the thought process involving the portion of the compound words, "over", as in "over the top", as in "too much". When the mistake becomes the entire thesis of a movie, the error is amplified in spades.
