For the four decades that democrats/liberals/progressives dominated the US, I've been desperately trying to tell them that I'm with them on the "be a good human" thing, but that their stances on economics, environmentalism, and civil liberties seemed to be based on either ignorance or misapprehension.
I told them this "neoliberal economics" thing was based on hidden assumptions that made it great for rich people, but devastating for everyone else. I told them that making deficit spending the norm was weakening both our future economic stability and our currency's dominance on the world stage.
I told them that if we wanted to stop global warming, we needed nuclear, now, because we were never going to have the "renewable" technologies ready in remotely enough time.
I told them that they had given the executive branch and its agencies so much unsupervised power that it was effectively a structure designed for dictatorship. I told them that they weren't going to be in charge forever, and that eventually their opposing tribe would hold the reins as firmly as they ever had, if we were lucky.
Well, we didn't solve any of those problems, and we weren't lucky.
Welcome to Fascist Waterworld, kids!
