As you add friends you will see a lot of activity in the Friends' Message which is the checkerboard icon on the left of the tool bar. For now Click the target icon, third from the left and then choose Global Community. There will be a lot more activity there.

@Harib Murshidi friendica is the connective tissue of the fediverse. it doesn't just speak activitypub like mastodon or pixelfed, it speaks activitypub AND diaspora AND ostatus AND its own dfrn protocol all at the same time, plus it has official connectors for bluesky and tumblr and even rss feeds. so one friendica account can follow a mastodon user, a diaspora pod, a pixelfed account, a bluesky handle, and a blog, and all of it shows up in the same timeline. no other platform does that natively. mastodon only does activitypub. diaspora only does diaspora. friendica does all of them. that's why it's called the universal connector. as for reach, the friendica network itself is small, around 270 to 410 active servers with roughly 16,000 to 21,000 registered users depending on the tracker, so it's niche. but the point was never friendica's own user count. the point is that a friendica node can see and interact with the entire fediverse, and one node on the network reports being aware of over 45,000 servers and 24 million registered users across all connected platforms. so friendica is small but it's the widest window into everything else.

So from here we can interact with users from any mastodon/pixelfed instance ? Like you don't need those fedibridges which are required on mastodon, bsky ? 🤔

Yes, exactly, because Friendica understands Activity Pub as well as DFRN and a number of other protocols it is easy to federate. There are cross network type limmits. For instance a Mastodon user cannot effectively join a Friendica Group, as vanilla Mastodon has no concept of a group. Private posts work between modern Mastodon Instance and Friendica but most Mastodon Instances are old to ancient and do not appear to be maintained or upgraded. There are certain network types that you will have to configure in your settings in order to be able to connect to. Furthermore I have been having issues with the Bluesky bridge as far as Webfinger authentication. If you have a Bluesky account just use the setting to connect it rather than using the bridge.

In general it will just work. The setup for networks in the settings is for more esoteric networks like Gnu/Social and federating email. ;-) I have a range of addons available. Some of them are transparent, and others you have to configure or enable to make use of, like Mathjax and Markdown. Take a tour through settings to full appreciate how many options you have. I have a feature turned on that allows you to tell this Instance that an user you follow is actually you on another Instance, be sure you only do this if it is you. When you turn it on all your activities on one Instance will be mirrored to the other. Take a moment to browse the Help section too, especially the BBcode section, and the privacy section. Privacy does not work well across network types. Basically if you make something private only those you follow on that network type will see it were a friend on Mastodon will not be able to. Even though you shared it with friends. This is because no specific protocol for verifying identities across network types has been adopted at this point. Feel free to ask questions.
