I've been thinking:
If YouTube's supposed machine learning thing for the purpose of determining whether or not a user is underage had been in place, back when I was underage myself, would it have correctly identified me as having been underage?
Iโฆ kind of doubt it, tbh.
I watched a lot of videos about computers, a lot of which were not specifically gaming-related (although some were); I watched a lot of videos about cars, even though I didn't have a license; random music videos that were popular at the time, random funnies that were popular at the time, etc.
And how much has changed since; how different are the YouTube histories of the average adult now, as opposed to the average kid now, really?

I expect kid & adult YT histories really are pretty different. But it's irrelevent; this is all just a thin excuse to grab personal data, covered with a thick layer of "But think of the children!"
The thing that gets me is that, AFAICT, YouTube Premium accounts are exempt. Which, does make some sense, tbh, but it also comes off like, "Just pay us off first and we won't harass you."
similarly between the ages of 8& 13 aside from 1 summer vacation I don't think I ever missed one of the weekly Sunday political talkshows- with cable TV letting me watch all 3 that were on at the same time via repeat showings - beyond a 4th & 5th that were on later --- around 30 years later- at least 1/3rd of my favorite pundits are just on YouTube channels I'm regularly watching--- similarly I'm still watching home improvement shows (on YouTube)...
So I don't think then it would've identified me as underage as it thankfully wouldn't now..
*The cartoons that were most definitely for kids, were on TV back then were only when & with my mother's insistence.

A gray wolf wandered into

for the first time in more than a century on Saturday morning.

Wildlife officials have been able to track her location because BEY03F was fitted with a GPS collar in May 2025 while passing through Tulare county.
