This is wayyyy before y'all's time, but this WAS more fun than a barrel of monkeys...

It's lots of fun when it's your house that is the barrel.

It's a wonderful rabbit hole to go down, to be sure. There are other technical A-listers to be found, like the guy listed as "consultant". The name "John Howard" is none other than THE John C. Howard who invented the "Spectarama" visual special effects representing what was seen in the eyeball of the man in question.

Turns out Les Baxter got drawn in to a number of different horror/B movies simply because he became a thereminist under the tutelage of the premier theremin expert of the era, Dr. Samuel J. Hoffman AND was maestro on THE Moog synthesizer.

This movie was cutting edge at the time--no small potatoes, that.

How To Deceive The Rural Base Without Really Trying:
Item on Facebook Marketplace, rural Enid Oklahoma, which is highly likely mostly connected by Starlink, given that it's available off-the-shelf in Walmart.

Alt = screenshot of a Starlink terminal posted at Facebook Marketplace for sale for $300. The posted explanation was that this was needed in the rural area but the owner moved to where it's no longer needed.

@rebeld 🇨🇦 Point for you, minus for me, on that score. I did not see transistors per se, but you're quite right about that radio PCB, dial complete with the CONELRAD marking, was indeed a transistor radio. I concede the point.

So--"Distant Cousins" did the music. I gotta say that they're a great knock-off band,
laying out the styles of the popular music at the time, from Billy Vaughn's "Wheels" style guitar work at the beginning, British Invasion style, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Rivers style...man, they're talented that way. Not as agile as The Roots but damn close.

Oh yeah--I did do a bingo card, got a bingo quite some time ago--but I have to say that when I marked "radio broadcast" it was in reference to a sound effect they used as precursor to theramin: it was RADIOTELETYPE. Yessirree, this movie was a nerd's delight!
#Monsterdon

Yes, I'm glad Ari assisted me to view tonight's #Monsterdon because YESSSSS! Nerd fuel here! That weirdo that stopped the car to strangle its driver had a recognizable AM radio dial on his head--and before the driver was strangled, he tried to burn the weirdo with an old thing that was replaced with traffic cones nowadays: a thing that looks like a canonball but holds kerosene in it and you could light it on the top. WOW what an antique!

I'm prolly behind everyone else in #Monsterdon because I just **HAD** to re-rack to take a closer look at that hollowware headgear, supposedly given trouble by high humidity, which is weird given the components I saw there: nearly all encapsulated capacitors. Ceramic-clad electrolytics, a good number of resin-clad film, on micah of all things and one disc ceramic. That solitary vacuum tube was pre-miniaturization era type.

#Trump #TrumpMemes

This one's not easy to Alt because it's a long list of Trump's failures. The header reads: " Trump: I'm 'really smart' and 'a very stable genius'.

#Trump #TrumpMemes

This one's easy to Alt. Image of a smirking Trump decked out in a khaki jacket with sewn patches on it, one of which is Space Force's. Text = FULL METAL JACKASS

#Trump #TrumpMemes

This one's a Google Plus classic, and easier to Alt.
It's a pic of Hillary Clinton talking laughingly to Obama and Obama is seated, doubled over in laughter. Text + IF TRUMP GOES TO PRISON, IT WOULD BE HIS FIRST COMPLETE SENTENCE!

#Trump #TrumpMemes
Some of these images are too complex to render well with alt text, sorry to say, and I've found Altbot to miss the mark too many times. Please forgive me.

Seriously. We've seen this #Trump movie before so it's well worth recycling #TrumpMemes from yester year.

@Ivey Janette McClelland @Maddad ☑️

Indeed, but odd you should mention that because during Trump 1.0 I did up a meme exactly for that.

Alt = a still from the last scene of "Sunset Boulevard" where the character Norma Desmond presents herself to arresting officers amid a group of photographers who she tells that she's ready for her close-up--except that's Donald Trump's face.

The reason I had to verbally describe Radio Canada International's old logo is because Google got too st00pid to find one online. I dug for radio clubs and finally found it. Shame, SHAME Google!!
Also on that club's page was a letter welcoming a listener to the RCI Listener's Club, signed by the legendary Ian McFarland, who ran it. Yes I was a member.

Thinking that the CBC's logo was always an "exploding pizza". It was a new thing when Radio Canada International ditched the maple leaf inscribed with concentric circles for the "exploding pizza", and that's when the CBC still had La Maison Radio Canada in Montreal.

@Tom Grzybow
It shouldn't be because Ray Stevens did a cover of that tune AND "Beyond The Blue Horizon", another Mac&Eddy classic, though originally sung by just the Mac half (Jeannette). Now don't tell me you don't remember Ray Stevens.

Curious thing, this.
I saw a remarkable looking refrigerator in some episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents only I don't recall which one it was...and then tonight saw the same model fridge in The Twilight Zone episode "People Are Alike All Over". I would dearly like to find out what make and model that thing was--nobody makes fridge door handles like that anymore.

They's spunky, glittery little things but mainly range in the southern half of the US. When their wings are folded, there's a mottled appearance flecked with reflective silver bits; when opened, they look a bright orange with black flecks.
