I’m taking your poll in the spirit I think it was intended. That is, a “better liar” is one who has mastered the craft of lying so well that they are shameless in their presentation, but not necessarily convincing in their delivery. Following that logic a “best liar” is the superlative of the craft. That person would be so convincing that they would completely dupe most listeners. She’s definitely more accomplished at her craft than Spicer could ever hope to be, but her peddling of propaganda is so thinly veiled that she’s not convincing. However, if by “better” or “worse” you mean it as a value judgement, she’s far worse than Spicer. He, in the end, had a measure of integrity. She has none.
Randahl, you should have a recurring poll every week called "Best Lie of the Week", featuring real lies told by Karoline Leavitt, Donald Trump and Mike Johnson. Then create a graph over time to determine the true winner. I'm sure the bookies in London would love to take bets on it.
Spicer was transparent, and also seemed to have some conscience about it.
To some degree, lying is part of any job like this, so that's expected. Spicer was noticeably brazen about it, but Leavitt is absolutely shameless, and it's hard to tell if she might even believe a lot of it. She manages to sell it (to stupid people, at least) much better than Spicer could.
