that's correct as my uncle found out the hard way. He had been released from the hospital after a month and was at home when he had an embolism. My aunt had to get him into their truck and was trying to drive him to the hospital a half hour away when he died.
They used to sometimes have to wait an hour or more before they could dispatch an ambulance or fire truck if they didn't have enough people for a crew and had to wait for someone to leave work and drive up from Grand Junction.

Indeed. It's sparse up there. Firefighting even 2 miles up the hill that way from the GJ river bottom involves heavy city/county fire tanker trucks hauling water grinding up a steep hill at 10mph. Can take a while.
Ambulance service, with lighter vehicles, has gotten into the 5-10 minute range for the lower 2-4 mile segment.
GJ EMS and St Marys flight for life heliport are now doing more Glade Park runs when local response all the way up there isn't available.

That would be someone's aborted 'fiber to the home' project? It is a great art project component but the glass fibers leave really deadly shards when they break.
A friend of mine picked up a spool when some McMansion tossed out a spool of multi-mode fiber when they should have ordered single-mode fiber. He tried to do neon sign kinds of things with it but very uneven leakage made for hard to read letters.

At some point, because uniform chews you up, I was taking almost 7g (yes) of ibuprofen a day. By then, that caught attention of a mil doc, and they put me on a relatively low dose of naproxen.
It worked so much better. I am also NOT actively trying to grind my knees and lower back to shreds, so that helps, too.

I need to do strength exercises and have been unable to convince myself. “Where are the dumbbells,” I ask, innocently, knowing fully well I just need to find them once to do this task in perpetuity.

Yes. Eventually. And in ways that possibly cannot be fixed.
Huzzah to wall pilates and chair yoga.
I suffer the next day or so, but I can move better than I could a year ago.
I think it's all about tailoring the workouts, and I'm grateful for my short term suffering.
