I think trump is just submissive to putin because he fits his idea of a strong leader, he's what he want to be, and he does fear him.
@tshirtman @staringatclouds I agree. Trump seems to wish he could do what Putin is doing. We know he thinks Putin should be able to take as much of Ukraine as he likes, but seems to have been convinced to not ever say that.
Another issue I have with this species is that most will ignore the big picture because it's the small picture that makes your life different

Your dad has taught you a very important lesson in critical thinking. The moment a person starts rebutting your points with ad hominem attacks bow out gracefully. This person has not desire to learn or argue reasonably. They just want to shove their ideas down your throat and you are not to question. It is one thing to use colorful adjective such as conservitard or libtard in a statement or joke. It is entirely different when one uses it as a rebuttal to a point in discussion. Typically such usage in either case will leave your more educated audience considering your content to be inferior. One should be able to discuss, argue or discourse any topic without resorting to insult. If one is educated in that topic.

A Republic is any country ruled by the people by any political ideology that does not involve a king, dictator or monarchy period. It is not very descriptive. It could be a Communist Republic, Socialist Republic, Democratic Republic etc. The fact is that just referring to a country as a Republic only states two points, it does not have a king or dictator. It is not very revealing at all. If we were to discuss the political ideology embraced by America then it would have to be far more informative than merely labeling it a Republic or Democracy. It has elements of both and is a Democratic Republic. Though Republicans love the word Republic because they literally used it in their name and Democrats like Democracy for the same reason. And their propaganda tends to lean into the label that emphasizes their brand. It is more about marketing than political theory. But, many will continue to follow their parties propaganda and abandon political science all together.

So I haven't given myself a mountain of time to work on it today, and certain categories of people will no doubt find this deeply underwhelming work-per-minute, but I just fully implemented the basic savegame system for Ecliptic Mariner: Diaries in like two and a half hours.
Mostly from uphill fights understanding how the godot 4 -> SQLite3 plugin I'm using really wants to work.
It's a primative first pass at the functionality, but it works!
I really just need to implement game loading next, for a bunch of reasons. Once savefiles can be created and opened, I can move on to starting to develop the game's "main" scene and adding gameplay features one by one.
I'm also pondering out the roadmap, and as unsexy as it is I suppose I'll be implementing the tasks and timers systems before I start implementing anything else; they're the functionality I'm missing most in the Great September Workflow Fuckening, and also underpin most of the more elaborate and interesting systems.
Though really, the next big implementation effort isn't a feature at all.
It's finally nailing down look/feel and starting to build the "main scene" (to use the godot terminology); the "operating system" of the ship you're in.
I have a truly pathetic idea of how to build that out, and while it means the game will basically have the whole universe loaded at once... it won't exactly be mulching processors to do it.
