This is for all the wet-behind-the-ears #TechBros who hold the highest fantasies about building a future of AI, Tesla vehicles, and manufacturing plants all run by robots.

I ran across an article about how Teslas with significant mileage on 'em are running into maintenance issues, cure for which is to just buy a new Tesla. All you born-yesterdays had better come to grips with the fact that machinery requires maintenance, and if you think no prob because robots can fix robots, you're neglecting the requirement for replacement parts. Robots require more frequent replacement of parts than humans do because a part is worn out when its movement becomes too sloppy to respond to calibration.
Robotics requires tight tolerances and even when a part still functions, it'll be operating out of tolerance and when the slop can't be compensated for by software, the parts require replacement.

Trump and Kim were in love; I'm guessing Kim is jealous of being in a 3-way with Putin.

Looking forward to spotting giant caterpillars in tomorrow's #monsterdon, and I've prepared in advance by locating where I might view "The First Men In The Moon" on a website that won't object to my ad blockers (which rules out YouTube). Both Daily Motion and Bit Chute have too many commercial interruptions so I've settled on Pluto.

In this process I took a side trip to the Wiki page of one Charles Beaumont, who has enjoyed frequent accreditation in The Twilight Zone, and found that he's written for a number of movies that, so I think Monsterdonians would do well to check out his Wiki page too--he died in his 30s with 2 types of dementia, poor fellow.

This goes for all my accounts elsewhere in the Fediverse. I have a severe allergy to bullshit.

Just letting everyone know that I block Ghost on the Half Shell because of his half-baked economic "theories". Each time when I challenge them, he has snookered followers who block me and therefore block any discussion. They're all ACHTUNG jackbooted about it, though Ghost at least attempts to defend his positions initially, then quits. They're indefensible. #economy #trade #currency #markets

It goes a long, long way to explain Rwanda.

Sorry, but Belgian colonization of Rwanda was not required for its massacre. Simply being accused of being a Belgian collaborator was responsible.

Doesn't matter that Rwanda wasn't colonized. The massacre was based on accusations of being collaborators with Belgium.

That top one has the sorta-form of a mini Zenith Transoceanic Wave Magnet, don't it.

Oooh, looks like I started in on one of the designs for what they call "Textile antennas". Just need metal thread. #antenna #sewing

I ain't got nobody
No body cares for me
I'm so sad and lonely
Nobody cares for me nobody cares for me

I'm just a juggle-o
Everywhere I go
People know the part
I'm playing...
When the end comes I know
They'll say just a juggolo
Life goes on
Without me

The Roman 8 ball. If they had made that thing float inside a ball, that's exactly what the Romans would have had.

Here is a Roman D20 carved from crystal in the 3rd century AD. These were used, historians suspect for telling fortunes. However, no one can *prove* they weren't used for some kind role playing game. Which is what getting a fortune told with a die is kind of like anyways if you ask me.

DNS Perhaps

Okay, just read an individual's explanation of how DNS works. I do not know if they adlibbed the entire comment or if they are just a victim of poor information. Suffice it to say that I have read more reliable information posted by @Low Quality Facts . I am not sure why people feel it is necessary to make comments on a topic they obviously do not understand. I was going to explain to them how they were so misguided and give them a few links to useful resources to learn about DNS though I decided it would be a waste of time. So I wasted my time making this post instead πŸ˜‰.

Precious little Doctor Who could be found with this, though. Precious little Doc Martin, too. I've found a Yankee substitute for the Brit-flavoured time traveler, and that's Alfred Hitchcock. I haven't heard a jail referred to as a stir in friggin' AGES, and I heard that in an Alfred Hitchcock Presents just last night.

To be fair, any radio pirate's choice of this band is also limited by its propagation issues during certain parts of the day. They'd do better with a Chicken Band transceiver further up in frequency. Sure there are daily propagation issues with that too, but it would still be an improvement.

Trumpism is the symptom of a less happy, less trusting society.

But we are far from powerless to change this.

There are several ways we can each make a difference
– starting with our own minds and local communities and finishing with helping others around the world.

What gives me hope is realizing we have the potential to understand what’s going wrong in our society and do our part to improve it.

The skipper lay with his nob in gore
Where the scullion’s axe his cheek had shore
And the scullion he was stabbed times four
And there he lay and the soggy skies
Dripped all day in up-staring eyes
At murk sunset and at foul sur-prise
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum

Fifteen men on a dead man's Community Chest
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum

It's #DoorsDay? Okay, Ima remove the I from DORIS as I instead cue up "People Are Strange" on the turntable.

For #DoorsDay: I've always admired this door in my neighborhood, for the splash of color.

I have no idea how to deal with your issues on this instance regarding posting locally; turns out that there are no posting options except locally. When I click on the global icon (the circular thingie), the posting editor goes away, and I was told that's just how all Friendica instances work; to change that, one would have to change the coding. The editor shows up when you click on the left-most grid-type icon.
