I struggle with Puerto RIcan Spanish. What I got out of it was him celebrating how all the Latin American cultures enrich life in the US. And at the very end, all countries in the Americas from Argentina up to Canada are connected an ultimately in this together.
I loved the wedding scene. And him giving his Grammy to the 5 year old bunny boy broke me.

@venitamathias Benito, Ricky and René helped get worldwide attention to the cause. there were protests happening for YEARS but they gave the movement that last push to take them worldwide. there’s boricuas everywhere and we protested from pole to pole.

My dad encouraged my love for libraries when I was a young girl. He took me pretty often into town, and I would ensconce myself among books, leaving with stacks of them. I wouldn’t be the writer (or science gal!) I am today without that experience. I always get a library card in every city I live in.  Thank you, Dad. 🙏

It was my mom who encouraged me. We lived outside of town, and had just one car. Mom took me to the Bookmobile every week. I walked home with as many books as my little arms could carry.
I've lived in many cities. The first thing I did upon arrival was to register to vote. The second was to get a library card.
